It was a busy weekend full of fun things!
Dan and I got to go to a murder mystery night at Bube’s Brewery, which had an intense insane asylum theme. It was a great way to combine great friends and interesting activities into one evening
I also had the honor of creating some birthday goodies for Dan’s nephew, B, for his big 7th birthday. Last year, B got a special friend from Star Wars who carries a light saber to visit his birthday party. This year’s theme:
These birds are quite angry. The angry birds cupcakes were fun-fetti style (basically yellow cake with sprinkles inside) and the affronted feathered creatures are made with candy melts and this wonderful cheat kit for animal faces that I got from Michael’s:
And all that was just on Saturday!
Sunday was a little more relaxed, with some shopping, some planting of spring bulbs, and working on my most recent quilt, the spring baby zigzag quilt.
Pardon the wonky tape job. I currently have it top-stitched and attached to a comfy white flannel backing and am sewing the bright yellow binding. Once that is done, she is going up in the shop and is available for purchase (yay!)
This quilt is perfect for an April-May baby
And in case any of you were curious as to what is going on in Dan’s world, since he posts here so infrequently, this is what he allowed me to do to his face this weekend:
You may now call him Colonel
Happy Monday, everyone!
