Ok, admittedly, quilting hasn’t been my top priority lately. You saw my previous post about all the wedding crafting we have been doing. The weekends around here are either packed full of friends getting married, family having babies, or Dan and I reviewing lists, gluing things to other things and making (not really) last minute purchases for things for the wedding.
But in between the madness I sometimes need a couple hours alone, in my craft room, in front of my sewing machine. Just me and the fabric. It’s an addiction I hope I never get over. When I was younger it was drawing. I could sit and sketch for hours and lose myself in time. As I got older, I lost the love of sketching I once had. These days, I just cannot get enough quilting.
Over the last few days I have been finishing up my lil lovely chevron baby quilt, which also already has a new home with my future mother-in-law, Marilyn.
There is something seriously satisfying about finishing up that last little bit of binding, sewing on my Sparrow tags, rolling it up and putting it into the “finish basket”. Unlike some of my other quilts, this one wont stay there very long, which makes the finish line all the sweeter. (someone finally wants one of my quilts!) *insert happy dance*.
A big thanks, as always to my happy quilt helper/holder.
I am pretty psyched on how the backing turned out. I guess I could have made the color more interesting, but I really love the fresh and clean white fabric. Addicted to my bolt of white cotton. Also, I didn’t want to show a clear preference for a color on the binding, lest it become a “boy” quilt or a “girl” quilt, so neutral it shall remain.
Ah the joys of quilt motherhood
Have a great week, everybody! Quilt till you can’t quilt no mo’.
