Work In Progress – Swoon Quilt Blocks – Block One

It’s been a little hectic ’round these parts lately, between work, Dan’s bachelor trip to Vegas, our wedding shower and bachelorette…

Not a lot has gotten done lately, except the reorganization of our kitchen to fit all our fancy new kitchen things in! I think Dan has become addicted to the wedding shwag.

At our wedding shower, part of everyone’s gift to us was a quarter yard of fabric for me to play with. I figured what better way to use up the fabric so lovingly donated to us by friends and family than to create something beautiful out of it. So last night I started what will ultimately be our wedding quilt, but will also double as the shade in our chuppah at the wedding… Sneak peek below!

They wont all look the same (I have a lot of really great patterns to go through), but why not take a look at these Swoon blocks, originally designed by Camille Roskelly of Simplify. If you visit her website you can see why I was inspired to use this pattern – swoon quilt blocks are lovely, no matter what color combinations you use!

My goal is to get one block finished per night until the entire quilt is done. This is much easier in theory than it is in action, especially since last night we got home late and I cut out the wrong number of blocks. I will be much more efficient this evening. I cant wait to see how this quilt turns out!
